Amorphous SiBCN alloys are known – depending on the elemental composition – for their thermal stability and high-temperature (up to 1500 °C) oxidation resistance, hardness, optical transparency or electrical and/or thermal conductivity. The paper reports ageing of SiBCN ceramics prepared in the form of thin films in a wide range of elemental compositions and preparation conditions. I focus on the room-temperature oxidation resistance, expressed in terms of the thickness and properties of the surface oxide layer 12 years since the deposition. I identify which compositions exhibit perfect long-time room-temperature oxidation resistance (this includes those, but not only those, which exhibit short-time high-temperature oxidation resistance) and which do not. For the latter I discuss the complex relationships between the characteristics of the surface oxide layer, the elemental composition of the films and the ion bombardment during the film growth. The results are important for tailoring long-lifetime ceramics combining the aforementioned functional properties.  相似文献

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a highly invasive primary brain tumour that has poor prognosis despite aggressive treatment. A hallmark of these tumours is diffuse invasion into the surrounding brain, necessitating a multi-modal treatment approach, including surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. We have previously demonstrated the ability of our model to predict radiographic response immediately following radiation therapy in individual GBM patients using a simplified geometry of the brain and theoretical radiation dose. Using only two pre-treatment magnetic resonance imaging scans, we calculate net rates of proliferation and invasion as well as radiation sensitivity for a patient''s disease. Here, we present the application of our clinically targeted modelling approach to a single glioblastoma patient as a demonstration of our method. We apply our model in the full three-dimensional architecture of the brain to quantify the effects of regional resistance to radiation owing to hypoxia in vivo determined by [18F]-fluoromisonidazole positron emission tomography (FMISO-PET) and the patient-specific three-dimensional radiation treatment plan. Incorporation of hypoxia into our model with FMISO-PET increases the model–data agreement by an order of magnitude. This improvement was robust to our definition of hypoxia or the degree of radiation resistance quantified with the FMISO-PET image and our computational model, respectively. This work demonstrates a useful application of patient-specific modelling in personalized medicine and how mathematical modelling has the potential to unify multi-modality imaging and radiation treatment planning.  相似文献

Gadolinium zirconate (Gd2Zr2O7, GZ) as one of the promising thermal barrier coating materials for high-temperature application in gas turbine was toughened by nanostructured 3 mol% yttria partially-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) incorporation. The fracture toughness of the composite of 90 mol% GZ-10 mol% YSZ (GZ–YSZ) was increased by about 60% relative to the monolithic GZ. Both the GZ and GZ–YSZ composite coatings were deposited by atmospheric plasma spraying on Ni-base superalloys and then thermal-shock tested under the same conditions. The thermal-shock lifetime of GZ–YSZ composite coating was improved, which is believed to be mainly attributed to the enhancement of fracture toughness by the addition of YSZ. In addition, the failure mechanisms of the thermal-shock tested GZ–YSZ composite coatings were discussed.  相似文献

The forming quality of thermally sprayed coatings is often severely impacted by inherent defects, including porosity, microcracks, and mechanical bonding. The poor adhesive strength hinders the utilization of thermal spray technology when fabricating ceramic-reinforced metal matrix composite coatings (MMCCs). Thus, in this study, a negative defocus laser remelting and injection method (LRI) is introduced to modify a thermally sprayed coating with WC ceramics. The microstructure and mechanical property (microhardness, elastic modulus, and wear resistance) evolution of a LRI-modified WC reinforced composite coating is systematically characterized and compared with that for an as-sprayed coating. The LRI method is proven to improve the inherent defects of the initial coating and avoid severe reactions and dissolution of reinforced particles at high temperatures, and can be used to form a high-quality composite coating with a maximum strengthening effect of the ceramic particles. Compared with the initial coating, the elastic modulus and microhardness of the LRI coating are increased by 57.22% and 111.06%, respectively, whereas the abrasion rate is decreased by 54.33%.  相似文献

In this paper, environmental strength degradation of 180 different adhesive single lap joints (SLJ), including mono-adhesive Araldite 2015, mono-adhesive Araldite AV138, and a mixed-adhesive of Araldite 2015 and Araldite AV138 subjected to moist conditions are experimentally studied. Four different moist conditions, i.e. dry, 75.3, 84.2 RH% and immersion in tap water, have been taken into consideration and the specimens are tested after exposing to these environments at room temperature for 0, 35, 80 and 270 days. The specimens have been tested in two different strain rate, i.e. 1 mm/min and 100 mm/min. The results reveal that although, in a dry environment, mixed-adhesive joints have higher failure loads in comparison to mono-adhesive SLJs, in a moist environment, they have the highest reduction in static failure load with regard to the mono-adhesive ones. Moreover, despite the finally brittle trend in failure load, mixed-adhesives manifest a behavior very similar to ductile mono-adhesives regarding elongation. Analytical predictions of failure load are also consistent with the experimental observations in dry condition.  相似文献

The different types of metal powder used for selective laser melting(SLM) process would cause distinct corrosion behavior due to the uniformity of the obtained microstructure.The SLM-produced Ti–5Cu alloy using atomized Ti–5Cu metal powder(SLMed Ti–5Cu) in this work reveals a relatively uniform microstructure with overwhelming acicular α/α′ phase and shows great advantages on corrosion resistance compared with the SLM-produced Ti–5Cu alloy using the mixture powder(SLMedM Ti–5Cu).The effect of the micro-galvanic cells decreases due to the undetectable Ti_2Cu phase in the microstructure of the SLMed Ti–5Cu.An apparent passivation behavior was observed for SLMed Ti–5Cu instead of severe pitting phenomenon for the SLMed-M Ti–5Cu.The charge transfer resistance of SLMed Ti–5Cu in this work is 10.09 ± 2.63 MΩ cm~2, which is significantly higher than that of SLMed-M Ti–5Cu(4.76 MΩ cm~2).The above result indicates the atomized Ti–5Cu powder plays an important role in the formation of the uniform microstructure of SLMed product, thereby enhancing its corrosion resistance in Hank's solution at 37 ℃.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Nonprofit organizations (NPOs) are strategically using their own personal website to present themselves to the public and share information. Despite the potential benefits of enhanced public confidence and trust, reduced operating costs, improved donor decision making, and increased donations, many nonprofit organizations have resisted the adoption of web disclosure. Informed by the literature on information systems (IS) adoption and technological innovation, this study examines the primary factors that influence the adoption and resistance of web disclosure. Our sample consisted of 176 survey responses from an initial group of 3,323 U.S. NPOs. The statistical results indicate that attitude toward disclosure, compatibility of disclosure with current practices, and financial readiness have a positive influence on web disclosure adoption. The findings have implications for research and practice.  相似文献

传统的有机类无铬钝化产品在400 ℃的高温条件下黄变较重,在保持优异的耐高温前提下,同时具有优异的耐蚀性和加工性能,设计了镀铝板使用的无机类加少量有机类的无铬钝化产品。利用电化学工作站、X射线光电子能谱、X射线荧光谱、红外光谱等方法,对该无铬钝化药剂在热镀铝板表面的成膜机理进行了研究,并结合成膜动力学分析,完成了皮膜与铝硅镀层的界面结合机理分析。对膜重、固化温度对镀铝板工艺性能影响进行研究,得出综合性能优异的膜重控制范围为0.8~1.2 g/m2,对应的PMT温度大于80 ℃。所生产的无铬钝化热镀铝板产品耐高温、耐腐蚀和冲压性能优异,400 ℃烘烤2 h后表面色差ΔE<3,72 h中性盐雾试验未出现锈蚀。  相似文献
